Contrapunctum is a chamber choir, made up of diverse range of professional musicians and devoted music followers , who have the common enthusiasm especially for music of the Renaissance, and in some cases, medieval music. The Choir was founded in February 2005 with the sole aim to enjoy music of this era and in so doing bring an understanding of the Renaissance to its audiences.
Authenic Renaissance Performances
Contrapunctum prides itself in performing music in an authentic style, not only looking at musical interpretation but also in pronunciation.
Both religious and less austere music of the time form our repetoire, including the music of Josquin DES Prez, Palestrina and less well known composers like Mateo Flecha as well as anonymous works. There is a special interest in the Spanish composers of the time, as Tomás Luis de Victoria, Juan de la Encina and Francisco Guerrero
